Latin Students Earn Top State Honors
Altamont School students earned top honors at the annual Alabama Junior Classical League (AJCL) Latin Convention in February.
The organization also honored Altamont Head of School Emerita Sarah Whiteside with its Lifetime Achievement Award. Whiteside is a classics scholar who taught Latin at Altamont through her 40 years of service as a teacher and administrator at the school.
 
The 43 Altamont Latin students competed in academic and athletic Olympiads, with these impressive results:
