Theatre Students Earn Top District, State Honors
Sean Flynt

Altamont School theatre students brought home dozens of honors from the district and state Walter Trumbauer High School Theatre Festivals in November and December, including Best In Show at both competitions for the school’s production of Legally Blonde the Musical Jr. Altamont Theatre Program director Reid Watson said the musical sold out at the Dec. 1-3 state festival at Troy University, and was greeted with “thunderous applause” by the standing-room-only audience.

Watson said the students distinguished themselves off the stage, too. “The audience and judges absolutely loved our students, yet throughout the entire Festival, Altamont students were so professional, humble, and continued to support and network with their competitors,” he said.
