Student Spotlight: Maggie Huffman

Student Spotlight

Altamont 9th grader Maggie Huffman, a competitive equestrian, has been riding horses for nearly 11 years. She finished second in the nation in her division in 2014. Since then, she has finished in the top 10 in the U.S. in her division each year. Currently, she is showing two horses, Conrad and Cecil, at a 1.10 meter and a meter height respectively. She competes with Conrad and Cecil (and her horse trainer of the last four years, Michael Newman) 24 of 52 weekends a year.

Last weekend, Maggie was Champion of the Low Children's Jumpers at Brownland Farms in Franklin, Tennessee. She was also 2nd in the Washington Equitation round Hunter phase and 2nd in the United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA) Medal Jumper phase.
