Altamont Students Selected as Finalists in International Art, Poetry Competition
Julie Beckwith

River of Words is an international youth poetry and art contest — the largest in the world — that inspires children ages 5 to 19 to translate their observations of nature into creative expression. River of Words is sponsored by Saint Mary's College of California's Center for Environmental Literacy. Out of submissions from students in 20 states and 5 countries, three Altamont photography students were selected as 2019 Art Finalists. Their work will be published in the digital 2019 River of Words Anthology as well as the 2019-2020 printed anthology.

Congratulations to our photography students on their winning artwork:

Raju Sudarshan (6th grade), "Down the River Bend"

Lily Davis (10th grade), "Thermal Runoff"

James Stephens (7th grade), "Almost Gone"
