Altamont photography students had an exceptional showing in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards competition. Scholastic is the oldest art and writing competition for students in grades 7-12 in the United States. Altamont students were honored with 16 Gold Keys (these photographs will go to New York to be judged for national awards), 16 Silver Keys, and 44 Honorable Mentions.

A remarkable 46 Altamont photography students earned placement of their work in the twice-juried statewide competition Double Exposure. The photography will be on exhibit Sunday, Feb. 12, 2-3 p.m. at the Bama Theater Galleries, 614 Greensboro Avenue, Tuscaloosa Alabama. Congratulations to William Register for winning a $125 cash prize and to Joe'l Brock for winning a $250 cash prize in the adult division.
