Acknowledging COVID through Art
Laine Williams

Last week, our students acknowledged the one-year anniversary of the global pandemic through art.

On March 13, 2020, we left the school building for a two-week quarantine, but little did we know that 2020 would turn into a different year. Our students recognized the losses that have taken place—the loss of normalcy, the loss of loved ones, and the loss of important experiences. They created banners that listed out some of their losses and these banners now hang at the front of the school.

However, we express deep gratitude for all the sacrifices--the sacrifices of front-line workers and essential workers, the sacrifices of our community, and the individual sacrifices we've each made to keep each other safe.

As we continue to care for those around us, we have hope and strength that we will get through this experience together.
