A Message from the Head of School
Sean Flynt

To My Altamont School Community:

I can’t begin to express how proud, humbled, and honored I am to serve as your Head of School! Throughout the vetting process, it became clear to me that Altamont is a community where the joy of learning is palpable, the love of community is realized, and the desire to grow and evolve as a “family of families” is unwavering.

I have served as a leader in successful schools across the United States throughout my 29 years as an educator, yet, I have never felt more comfortably aligned with a school’s mission, vision, and love of community as I have here at Altamont. Alumni, students, parents, faculty/staff, and friends of the Altamont community will soon find comfort in my ability to lead this community with unbridled passion, meticulous scrutiny, and unrivaled reverence.

Ahead of us are vast opportunities to broaden our influence throughout the Birmingham community and abroad: Academically, culturally, fiscally, and socially. As I serve the school, I will serve Greater Birmingham as a civic leader, role model and advocate, affirming that Altamont is a private school with a public purpose.

In partnership, we will build upon the legacy of our founders, and make the next 50 years of our existence as great as the first 50 years.
