2020-21 French Convention Results Are In!
Laine Williams

At the Alabama State French Convention, held virtually on February 26-28, 2021, our students brought home a total of 39 individual awards. Celebrating the French Convention's 70th anniversary, this year's theme was Fables and Fairy Tales.

Our students, along with other students in the area, participated in individual monologues and extemporaneous reading on FlipGrid, written contest and dictation on Microsoft forms, and even extemporaneous speaking and scholarship interviews with French professors from the University of Alabama over Zoom. In addition, several students attended a presentation by UAB professor Catherine Daniélou about the fables of Jean de la Fontaine. Finally, if you see a green French Convention t-shirt around school, you should know it was designed by 10th grader, Madeleine Beckwith!

Congratulations to our teachers and students who participated this year! Félicitations à tous nos gagnants!
