Fine Arts

Altamont students benefit from remarkable fine arts studio spaces, including Pharo Art Studio and Lacey-Day Photography Studio. These state-of-the-art facilities offer multiple lighting options and plentiful space for students to refine their skills in art, drawing, painting, design, sculpture, photography, multimedia, filmmaking, kiln firing, and much more. The Livingston Gallery, a permanent gallery for displaying student art work and hosting community exhibits opens onto the Hames Gallery, which interweaves Altamont's extensive professional art collection with the work of our students, showcasing the depth and breadth of their talents.

Our curriculum starts in 5th grade and features a broad range of classes, including art, design, painting, drawing, mixed media, photography-beginning, advanced, nature, and documentary, video and theatrical production, video production and sound recording and more.

Altamont fine arts students consistently win state, national, and international awards for their work in competitions such as Photographer's Forum, Scholastic Art & Writing, Visual Arts Achievement, Double Exposure, and the South Eastern Regional High School Art Competition.
