Distinguished Alumni Awards
The Distinguished Alumna/Alumnus Awards are the highest honors The Altamont School can bestow upon its graduates. It is fitting and proper that achievements of particular distinction be recognized.
The Distinguished Alumna/Alumnus Award is given annually to a woman and man who have made significant commitments and contributions to Altamont and to their community so that they are considered distinguished by the Alumni Award Committee.
The Alumni Award Committee of the Altamont Alumni Association, comprised of the Head of School, all former Distinguished Alumni, the President of the Alumni Association, the Director of Alumni Affairs, and one ad hoc member appointed by the Alumni Board, reviews the slate of nominees and votes for the final recipients. All living alumni of The Altamont School, Brooke Hill School, and Birmingham University School who are not current Altamont faculty or staff are eligible for nomination. Nominees may receive the award only once. The Distinguished Alumni are invited to speak to the entire student body at a special assembly and will be recognized at a ceremony dedicated to the occasion.
