Apply Now!

To Apply

  • Follow the Altamont Application link above
  • Establish a Blackbaud profile
  • Complete the online application form

Once submitted and processed, you will have access to an Admissions Progress Checklist as shown in the screenshot below.

  • Visit Altamont for a Shadow Day (submission of an application is not required before participating in a shadow day).
  • Use this checklist to request current teacher recommendations and school records. When requesting records, you will be asked “Records Name”. This is not asking for your child’s name; it is asking for the name and email of the administrator at your child’s current school who will complete the records request.
  • Standarized testing: Altamont requires the submission of standardized test scores. These scores are usually submitted with the applicant's transcript. If no scores are available, the applicant will need to submit results from the Independent School Entrance Exam or Secondary School Achievement Test. Students applying to grades 9 and above may submit a score on the SAT, PSAT, ACT or Pre-ACT.
  • Once all application materials are received, we will contact you to schedule an interview. This wrap-up meeting is an opportunity for students to share more about themselves and to ask any lingering questions regarding curriculum, program, or life in general at Altamont. Both parents are welcome, but we do ask that at least one parent attends the interview.
  • Admission applications completed by Jan. 23 will receive notification on or about Feb. 10. We will continue to accept applications after this date. Notification for applications received after Jan. 23 will be given as soon as possible, but priority will be given to those completed by Jan. 23. Enrollment contracts deadline: March 2. For those admitted after Feb. 10, enrollment contracts are due two weeks from the admission notification.
  • If you have any questions, contact Director of Admissions Thomas Goldsmith (205-445-1232) .
