Volunteer Opportunities

Parent Volunteers

Altamont is a unique school. Everything from our art-filled hallways to our rigorous curriculum to our outstanding athletics program is part of our plan to help remarkable students become even more remarkable. It is our job to help foster and nurture the talents of our students so they may reach their highest potential.

You can help us by volunteering at Altamont. Please contact the Altamont Parents Associations at apa@altamontschool.org.

Alumni Volunteers

The success of Altamont alumni outreach and fundraising programs depends on our alumni volunteers.

Our alumni have the choice between serving as "friendraising" volunteers for the various alumni programs and events and "fundraising" for the Annual Fund. We encourage you to volunteer in one capacity or the other as a way of remaining connected with the school and with one another.

Your enthusiasm, talents and commitment as alumni volunteers are truly remarkable, and we are grateful for your participation and support. The programs simply would not be he same without you, our alumni volunteers.

Ways to Help

Class Agent

Stay connected with your classmates and the school by becoming a Class Agent for your class. Duties include keeping in touch with classmates by updating contact information, gathering news for class notes and encouraging support of the Annual Fund.

Reunion Agent

Become a Reunion Agent for your class that is celebrating an anniversary year. Help build momentum for your upcoming reunion by encouraging participation from your classmates and helping to customize events for your particular class. You can also assist in helping with the Reunion Giving for your class by signing letters and making phone calls.

Alumni Board

Participate in the leadership of the Alumni Association by becoming a member of the Alumni Board. The Alumni Board meets four times a year and supports and supervises the activities of the Association including Homecoming, the Holiday Party, Book Fair, Distinguished Alumni Celebration, Reunion Weekend, the Squires Club, Alumni Reading Seminar, etc. Requirements for membership on the Board include volunteering for Reunion Weekend and one of the other activities, as well as participation in the Annual Fund.

Alumni Special Events and Archives

Volunteer in the Alumni Office by helping with special events (mailings, thank you letters, staging, decorations, program development, etc.). Helping with the archives (identifying pictures, organizing current archives and gathering more photos, memorabilia and information for the archives) will also be appreciated.
