Making a Gift or Pledge

Like other independent schools, Altamont receives no financial support from federal, state or local government. Instead, we rely on tuition, income from investments (endowment) and charitable gifts to provide the Altamont experience. The Altamont School is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. All charitable gifts are tax deductible in accordance with current tax laws. The Federal Tax ID number is 63—0302110.

Gifts of Cash:

Monetary gifts are always appreciated! A gift of check, cash or credit card will allow you to receive income tax deduction in the year the gift was made. Please make checks payable to The Altamont School. You may mail your gift to:

Gifts of Stock and other Securities:

Donating gifts of appreciated securities to Altamont that have been held for more than one year enables you to:

  • Avoid all capital gains tax on the appreciated portion of the stock
  • Qualify for the tax deduction equal to the stock's full fair market value
  • Make a larger gift than might be possible otherwise

Step 1:

Let us know when you plan to make a gift. We will not know to expect your gift unless you notify us. We want to note your giving record and properly thank you for your generosity.

Pledge a Gift:

Pledges may be paid through a single contribution or in multiple payments, at a time convenient to you. If your gift is to the Annual Fund, all final payments are due by June 30 in the school year that your gift was pledged.
