Forensics

- Forensics Students at Altamont
Altamont’s multi-tiered speech and forensics program is geared to the development of effective oral expression, a key ability in the effective development of the individual within society. Students who choose to continue work in the area of speech communication beyond Speech I may take Speech II, III and IV and become members of the Altamont Forensics Team, which competes regionally in the Lincoln-Douglas Debate and oral interpretative events. Forensics, which means “of the forum,” harkens back to the democratic ideal of the individual’s responsibility to oral expression of opinions and beliefs. Students are required to compete in at least three debate tournaments during the school year.
