Community Service

Altamont encourages students to develop into “compassionate, well-educated individuals capable of independent thinking and innovative ideas.” Community involvement builds our students’ awareness of current concerns and enriches their lives. Altamont students may volunteer by supporting their school community or by being involved in local projects. Each grade chooses a class service project to participate in for the whole year. Community service and awareness is the primary focus of three of our clubs: Forum of Cultural Diversity, Friends of the World, and Key Club.

Service

Altamont Ambassadors is a service organization composed of students in grades 10-12. Responsibilities include guiding school tours, representing the school at formal events, and greeting guests. Students must self-nominate and be reviewed by a faculty committee, and then members are chosen.
