• Athletes Compete and Win at Sectional and State Track & Field Meets

  18 Altamont student athletes qualified for the State meet in Selma with their scores at the Sectional Meet. Both the Boys and the Girls finished 3rd at Sectionals, and 7 athletes were named Sectional Champions: Kylie Scroggins (800 meter run), Tommy Thetford (pole vault), girls 4 x 800 relay (Lillian Culp, Ann Arnold, Jordan Booth, Kylie Scroggins), and Taylor Young (triple jump, 300 meter hurdles, 400 meter dash). At the State Meet, Taylor Young placed 1st in four events (400 meter dash, triple jump, long jump, 300 meter hurdles) and Emily Sears placed 3rd in the triple jump.

• Senior Brindon Sutton Named Bryant-Jordan Regional Achievement Award Winner

  Congratulations to senior Brindon Sutton who has been named a Regional Achievement Award winner by the Bryant-Jordan Scholarship Program. Brindon, who plays basketball and soccer and runs cross-country, has a 4.36 GPA and scored a 33 on the ACT. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, the Spanish Club, and the French Club.
